Sunday is Bring-A-Friend Sunday

Hello –

Matthew S., who encouraged us to try Bring-A-Friend Sunday, has told us that he is inviting three sets of people to come to church this Sunday. One is one of his best buddies, who used to love going to church but hasn’t been back in years. Another is his daughter and some of her friends who grew up Episcopalian, but have fallen out of the habit. Another is a family that used to come to St. Paul’s, but hasn’t been in a while.

Will you please take a few minutes now and think about who in your life might have at least a little opening toward coming with you to church this Sunday? This Sunday is a good Sunday to take that little risk and extend that invitation. Chances are good that your acquaintance won’t be the only new person in church.

Trust that what we offer- acceptance, good humor, purpose, beauty, community, a meaning in life larger than our little selves- is something that all human beings are hungry for. It’s a risk for a person to set their foot in a new church or a church they haven’t visited in a while. But the rewards can be tremendous.

Are there a few people in your life who just may be open to an invitation to join you this Sunday at St. Paul’s?

Blessings,

Christopher
