Bring Flowers This Sunday (and Della and Young Adults)

Hello –

This Sunday is our second annual May Day Celebration of Flowers. I encourage you to bring flowers to church, particularly if you have them in your garden. The 10am service will begin with along and a ritual honoring Mary, where you will be invited to bring your flowers up to my french wooden statue of Mary. I will then be honoring Mary in my sermon.

After the service, we will be supplementing those flowers with other flowers to create 180 small bouquets, which we will then personally deliver to three care facilities- Cogir, Aldersley and the San Rafael Health Care Center, such that every resident will get a bouquet. Join us as we arrange the flowers together in Duncan Hall and then, after a light lunch, deliver the bouquets.

This Saturday at noon is the funeral for our beloved parishioner, Della Holloway. Della was a staunch and cheery supporter of St. Paul’s who served as Senior Warden several times over the decades she was member here. She was in her mid-90s when she died last month.

Finally, some good news from our seminarian, Erin: “We’re starting a young adults group at St. Paul’s! If you’re between 18-30, come join us at Arizmendi’s after worship on Sunday for our first experimental gathering. We’ll leave from Duncan Hall after the service and walk down together. Come help us shape the vision for this new group together! “

Blessings, Christopher
