Hello –
The coming week has one last burst of activity before things slow down for the summer. Chronologically, the upcoming events of the week are:
• Wednesday at 5:30 there will be a quarterly gathering in the Upper Room to consider our Death Row ministry to our seven brothers in North Seg. This is a perfect, no commitment way to find out more about visits, hosting and letter writing.
• Friday at 4pm is the last time we will be hosting Young Moms Marin on Friday afternoons. This party will draw to a close this beautiful and difficult four and a half years of ministry.
• Saturday at 10am six of our youth- Samai, Fiona, Simon, Emilie, Dexter and Otis- will be Confirmed at Grace Cathedral.
• Sunday at the 10am service we will be baptizing Samai’s little sister, Yanelli and that service will be followed by a great receptions including our end of the school year ice cream buffet!
• Sunday at 7pm we will host the second of our Death Cafes. These are two hours of lightly hosted and deliberately open conversations about death. The first had about a dozen people and was strangely liberating and energizing.
Next week I’ll describe for you the slower summer schedule, which still has times and places to learn and serve, but at a slower pace.
