Thank You for Your Patience!

Hello –

Two of the things we can all do to stay healthy and balanced as we shelter-in-place are to attend to ritual and rhythm. Our major effort these last few weeks has been to connect us virtually for our most important weekly ritual of Sunday worship and the rhythm of our ordinary gatherings through the week.

We are making good progress on both fronts, but it is requiring patience.

As I write this, Jacob is downstairs in the church working on the audio for broadcasting our Sunday worship on Facebook live. Mike and Jay joined him virtually to provide feedback. By this Sunday, Palm Sunday, we hope the sound will be improved and that Facebook can handle the crush of worshipping churches, which was the primary challenge last week.

Meanwhile, another dozen people figured out Zoom this week and so our Bible Studies and meetings all hosted new people. We are aware that not all of you have Zoom or Zoom capability so, for example, the St. Anne’s guild is now having a weekly meeting at 11am on Thursdays via a Conference call number.

We are all learning as we go along. By the week after Easter, April 18th, I’d like to add a virtual coffee hour to our offerings. We are slowly building new skills to make sure we stay connected. Thank you for your patience and thank you to all of you who are taking extra steps to connect with one another via phone, email, Facebook and, increasingly, Zoom.

Our next event is Zoom Bible Study of the gospel of John at 10am tomorrow morning. You are welcome to join us. Email me at c.h.mrtn@gmail.com for the Zoom link.

Blessings,

Christopher
