St. Paul’s San Rafael Hosts the First Values in Action Event

Getting a feel for the flour at St. Paul’s San Rafael

Thanks to St. Paul’s San Rafael for hosting the first Values in Action Event
“We had a delightful, community-building event preparing the bags of Honore flour for our sister churches throughout the country. We started and began with prayer and had a productive, sociable and flour-covered two hours together. Our one piece of advice is not to wear dark clothes- it shows off the flour!”

Values in Action
We invite you to host a seasonal (winter, spring, summer, autumn) Values in Action event, a two-hour work party at your church where volunteers package heirloom flour for use by your communion bread bakers. The process of handling the flour milled from ancient grains that trace back to Jesus’ time, as well as baking the bread, and celebrating eucharist as a community, links us to the ancient tradition Jesus intended us to practice. The nutritious, hand milled flour serves our bodies and, through sustainable farming practices, also replenishes the soil, water systems, and the air we breathe. As a closing to the event, the group gathers to bless the flour as the final bag is weighed and readied for delivery. Email elizabeth@honoremill.org for more info.
