Consecration Sunday and the Necrology

Hello –

I hope this email finds you safe with life slowly getting back to its normal rhythm for you. The power outages have caused us all to think a bit about how dependent we are on electricity and how vulnerable we can be to the forces of nature and to human systems beyond our control. As a Vestry, we were already working on our disaster preparedness. This has been a useful dress rehearsal. The Vestry will be reflecting on these last days in our mid-November meeting, so be sure and share your experiences and thoughts with all of us.

Two things for this weekend:

1. Please tell us if you’re coming to Consecration Sunday. There will be a catered meal after the service at 10am (there is no 8am this Sunday) and we want to be sure and have enough food for all. Even if you are not coming, please let us know. Easiest of all is to simply click on my email address and shoot me an email: c.h.mrtn@gmail.com.

2. This Sunday is the one closest to All Saints’, November 1st, so we will be reading the Necrology, that is the list of all who have died in our wider St. Paul’s family since November 1st of last year. We will be reviewing our prayer list throughout the last year to create the list. If you’re not sure whether someone you love is on the last, please email info@stpaulssanrafael.org by tomorrow, Thursday, at noon and we will be sure to put them on the list to be read aloud at our one and only service at 10am on Sunday.

Let us continue to pray for all who are threatened by the fires and for the good work of all the firefighters.

Blessings,
Christopher
