Hardin Courtyard Decision

Hello –

On Tuesday evening the Vestry meets to choose among three excellent bids to create the Hardin Courtyard at St. Paul’s.

Pat and Larry, our project leaders, have spent countless hours over the last few months carefully attending to all the details of each of these bids and then negotiating very fair prices. The good news is that each of these bids accomplishes all of the essentials and comes in at or near our budget of $200,000. I am confident that, however we choose, we will have a beautiful, accessible and safe courtyard by the end of the summer.

The biggest decision is what the materials of the courtyard will be. Should it be all concrete, all pavers, or some kind of blend of the two? I believe the bulk of our discussion on Tuesday will consist of careful deliberation about this aesthetic decision. We will have our discussion in the knowledge that, because this is the legacy project of our generation, St. Paul’s will likely live with our decision for at least 50 years.

Please remember that Vestry meetings are always open to the parish, We have consistently solicited your thoughts and opinions throughout this process. Our solicitation of your point of view continues this Tuesday at 7pm in Duncan Hall.

Blessings,

Christopher
