3 Things as Lent Approaches

Hello –

Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, which is March 6th. Lent is the 40 days that lead to Holy Week, the most important time of the Christian year.

3 Things:

Open House. On Sunday, March 3rd, Chloe and I will host an Open House at our home in San Anselmo. Please come! These are always joyful times of connecting with new friends and connecting with old friends in new ways. It’s a relaxed and necessary way we build community here at St. Paul’s. It’s from 4pm to 6pm. We live right up the hill from the United Market on the miracle mile.

Ash Wednesday Services. This brief Eucharist includes the imposition of ashes on your forehead with the sobering words “remember you are dust and to dust you shall return.” The way we learn about Jesus is often through enacting the drama of his life. This service is the necessary first act. Services are at 7:30am, noon and 6:30pm on March 6th.

Basic Discipleship+. In this class I usually take a small group of people and we work together on 3 important Christian practices- daily prayer, telling our story and listening well to others. This Lent, I will be adding a fourth element- doing the work God has given us to do with gladness and singleness of heart. Basic D+ will be on Saturday’s at 8:30am and Sunday’s at 11:30am. They begin the first weekend of Lent, March 9th and 10th. Space is limited. Email me at c.h.mrtn@gmail.com to sign up.

Blessings,

Christopher
