In the last few days we’ve made some solid strides toward setting up a Virtual St. Paul’s to keep up our sense of connection in this time of isolation.
• Worship on Sundays at 9am on Facebook Live. This coming Sunday, we will have better camera equipment and, you don’t have to have a Facebook account to join us. Try it now. Click on these words and it should take you directly to our Facebook page. Do that at 9am on Sunday morning and you’ll be worshipping with your St. Paul’s family. • We had two successful Zoom meetings yesterday. 11 people joined me for the Wednesday Bible Study and 8 people joined me for part 4 of With Gladness and Singleness of Heart. I anticipate another 12 or so people for tonight’s 6:15 Bible Study. It was great to see everyone’s face, to hear their voice and, as always, to have lively conversation together.
• Tomorrow morning we are set to coach George, Sue, Alice, Bob, Joan, Beverly, Neville, Larry and Jane on how to get onto and participate in a Zoom meeting. This is important because our goal is to have our regular meetings happening each week on Zoom. I would like not just our Bible Studies and classes, but also Discipleship Groups and St. Anne’s to be able to meet virtually. There is a good chance that this social isolation could last for a long time. Let’s get virtually connected now so that we can go through this pandemic together.
I believe there are other things we can do to stay connected and to serve. But for now, let’s get adept at worshipping together at 9am on Sundays and to connecting in weekly gatherings on Zoom.
