Dear Friend,
Two, no three… THREE brief things (‘Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!!):
• Next week I lead the clergy conference in the Diocese of Indianapolis along with my colleague, the Rev. Mark Selvey. Mark is rector of St. Francis’ Episcopal Church in the panhandle of Nebraska and has brought TRP into two different churches. We will be supported in Indy by Tracey Lemon and the Rev. Suzanne Wille, who are members of the TRP leadership team and are at All Saints’, Indianapolis. Please pray that the movement grows! It should be a lot of fun.
• You may have noticed that the daily emails for the Lenten Challenge stopped part of the way through the season. This is because Tracey Lemon, who was doing the emails, was called to be at her mother’s bedside as she died and then lead her family through the process of her mother’s funeral. This was not unexpected and Tracey reports that the process was filled with grace. Please pray for the repose of the soul of Elizabeth. You can expect daily emails next year for the third annual TRP PrayWorshipServe Lenten Challenge.
• The three workshops I gave last month called ‘Building Your Spiritual Core’ were a lot of fun and very productive. Almost fifty folks came representing nine congregations. The series will be repeated in the fall with the addition of a fourth workshop, this one on finding Jesus in our friendship with the poor. They also, by request of the participants, will be three hours each rather than two. The dates are September 13 and 27 and October 11 and 25, 9am to noon.
More to come once we’re back from Indy.
Happy Easter,
Christopher Martin, Founder
