Hello –
The 10am service will be as usual with at least three important additions. Jacob will be sharing with us a shift in our attentions to the second of the three Landmarks the RenewalWork has created in response to the spiritual assessment 83 of us took last fall. We shift from Becoming Spiritual Leaders of Our Own Faith to Transparent and Known Leadership.
Sara, Kati, Zoe, Dylan and John will be given Books of Common Prayer in recognition of their becoming leaders of their own faith through being Confirmed by the Bishop at Grace Cathedral two weeks ago.
Genevieve McGee, who has been the preschool director of Marin Day School, the preschool that rents space from us, for the last 34 years, will be retiring at the end of the month. And she has indicated she will be there to receive our thanks and love.
Finally, Kati, after years of serving faithfully, joyfully and creatively as our head of children’s ministries is handing the baton to Karin. We celebrate her on Sunday at coffee hour and give thanks for her good work.
After coffee hour my summer vacation begins. Our good friend the Rev. Molly Hawes will be covering all the Sunday services while I’m gone and, in addition, will be coming in on Thursdays to prepare bulletins with Chris, work with Lorrie, make visits as needed and lead the Thursday evening Bible Study. Wednesday Bible Study will also continue under Tom’s Leadership.
