Hello –
Next week is our annual Back to School Bar-b-que, right after our 10am service. A crew of dads will be cooking great food on a grill, Mike Struck will be playing great Jazz and Kati and her crew will have Duncan Hall and the courtyard covered with all sorts of celebratory things. It will be a blast!
This year, I want to encourage you to join me in one more gesture of support and love for our students. We have about thirty students of all ages in our community, from June, Teddy, Graham and Elijah to Lex, Aarti, Kristen and Erin, with Hadley, Camilla, Madi, Zoe and Logan inbetween. Let’s show them some love and support!
Next Sunday, starting before church, I’ll have tables set up in Duncan Hall with about thirty small paper bags, each with the name of one of our students. Please join me in putting in each bag a little something- a pencil, a stick of gum, stickers, a note… anything that lets them know that the St. Paul’s community is thinking of them and loving them as they start another school year.
I think of this as like Valentine’s Day back in grade school where you just had to come up with a Valentine for every other kid in the class.
We are so blessed to have all these children, youth and young adults in our St. Paul’s community. Let us each show them, with a little thoughtful gesture, that we are grateful for them and believe in them.
I look forward to seeing you next Sunday at our Back to School BBQ!
Blessings, Christopher
