Hello –
This Sunday the Martin family will host one of our two bi-annual Open Houses. All are welcome, of all ages, to come to our home in San Anselmo from 4pm to 6pm this Sunday. Email me for the address if you don’t already have it. And yes, we will have our TV on for those of you who simply must see the Oscars’s red carpet!
The following Saturday, the 5th of March, will be a Discipleship Group workshop. As in past workshops, this is an opportunity for all to learn about these core groups and for those in groups to share stories and insights. In addition, I have become much clearer about how we might work on God’s call on our life, whatever life-stage we are in. I look forward to sharing these four tests, or lenses of Call with you. It’s from 9am to noon.
The following Sunday, the 6th, Youth Confirmation Class begins. Even if you’re not sure about your youth, send them to this first session, which will be an opportunity to test it out. It’s for al from 12 to 18 and we already have three people committed to it. It will be from 11:30am to 12:30pm. Confirmation is at Grace Cathedral on June 4th.
Finally, many of you have expressed how moved and delighted you are with the ancient language of the Rite One service at 10am. But some have noted that it feels uncomfortable to refer to humanity as ‘men.’ If this is the case with you, I invite you to join me in trying to find more inclusive language that fits. Sometimes it’s pretty easy. (‘all people’ rather than ‘all men.’) But sometimes it’s trickier. But I’m confident we can find a way. As with many things in the Episcopal Church, ‘all may, none must, some should.’
