Our Archive

Hello –

This week we begin work in creating our St. Paul’s archive. At the moment, we have interesting things from our 150 year history loosely collected in various spots. Joy and Jay have been excellent stewards of this trove of documents and pictures. Twice, once in the 70s and again in the 80s, our predecessors even created interesting and attractive little books that tell our story.

Now, we will be moving everything that we can find into one well-organized place. Working with Keatin, who re-did our bathrooms, the Upper Room and converted an unused office into the Downing Library, we will be converting another underutilized office space into our archive.

The room, right across from my office, has been Mike Struck’s office, and it will continue to serve that function. It will have a work desk and will also serve to store our remarkable collection of music. The room will be an archive in more ways than one.

Like the Downing Library, the Archive will also be another beautiful and warm place to meet. In addition to a little work table and chairs there are plans to have a comfortable chair and to frame objects and documents of interest and put them on the wall.

If you have anything that would be of historical interest about St. Paul’s and you would like it to be in our archive, please contact me. The creation of a single beautiful place to store the documents of our rich history is yet one more way we are celebrating our wonderful 150 year old history.

Blessings,
