Hello –
Three things:
1. Last call to add the name of your loved one who has died since November 1st of last year to our Necrology. I read all the names aloud on this list just before saying the Eucharistic prayer, the prayer of blessing over the bread and wine on Sunday All Saints’ Sunday. And I invite us all to imagine that we, when we eat the bread and drink the wine, are participating in the Heavenly Banquet with them. Email me at c.h.mrtn@gmail.com with the name or names.
2. Evensong is one of the great treasures of Anglican Christianity. Come this Sunday at 4pm to St. Paul’s to hear this beautiful music in our sacred space. Special thanks to Vincent Kinnard, our Music Director, for leading this effort.
3. The Bricks are in and they are both beautiful and more readable than I expected. These leather think, leather-bound books with both the Bible and the Book of Common Prayer, with four beautiful ribbons in striking colors, are the ideal way to get into a rhythm of daily prayer. If you get one, Im happy to show you where to place the ribbons so you can get started the next day. I ordered in bulk so they are only $90 as opposed to $125 from the publisher and $110 from Amazon.
I hope to see you Sunday.
Blessings,
Christopher
