Hello –
Tomorrow at 6pm we resume our Thursday night Bible Study on Zoom. We are going to be marching through the 40 chapters of Exodus starting tomorrow and ending on November 5th.
I’ve created a schedule to keep us focused and on track. Tomorrow, we’ll start with introducing ourselves to each other. Then, I’ll give an overview of the Torah, the first five books of the Bible, and how they fit together. We’ll then read and discuss the first chapter.
After that, we’ll be reading anywhere from two to five chapters a week. What we’ll lose in detail and depth, we’ll gain in a sense of the book as a whole and how all the pieces fit together. The structure of Exodus is extremely important, and that structure is hard to see until you’ve marched alongside Moses and the people of Israel from slavery in Egypt to spiritual rebirth at Mount Sinai.
Email me at c.h.mrtn@gmail.com and I’ll be sure Tanner has you on the list when he sends the Zoom link tomorrow. I can also send you the schedule of our readings if you would like.
Also, join us this Sunday as we continue our “Who Are We?” series with reflections on the life of prayer.
Blessings,
Christopher
