Grace and Peace be unto you from God our Creator and the Lord Jesus Christ. I can hardly contain my feelings at how wonderful it is to join with colleagues such as Joan Adams, Judy Rowcliffe, Michael Green, Walter Tanner, Kate Sprague, Rev. Christopher Martin, and most recently Pat Curtis who is leading St. Paul’s Forward. We are commissioned to implement a brave new way for all of us at St. Paul’s to embrace the love of God and follow Jesus using the Roadmap we developed with data gained though the Renewal Works Spiritual Inventory and the New Consecration Sunday way of supporting the church through the stewardship of our money.
Last week Walter Tanner introduced the transition we are taking in the Three-Year Roadmap from Landmark 1., “Becoming the spiritual leader of our own faith” to:
Landmark 2: Develop a shared, visible, known and connected leadership at St. Paul’s.
Signpost d. Use Scripture and the Book of Common Prayer to center all meetings.
Signpost e. Create an Organizational Chart.
Signpost f. Expand leadership through recruitment, training, and relationships.
Over the course of the next several weeks your RenewalWorks Group (RWG) will be working to assist everyone in delving deeply into the signposts with special emphasis on the foundations of leadership in the congregation. These include the blessing that we have received as followers of Christ and the gifts that we have also received and therefore are able to share in the Body of Christ. In addition, the RWG will be working to develop a Functional Organizational chart to uncover how we are organized and an Invitational chart to let everyone find that place where you are already or can soon share your gifts with gladness and singleness of heart.
Please look for more from your RWG as the weeks progress. For now, take some time to read 1 Corinthians 12 and let it guide your reflections on your blessings and your gifts.
