Hello –
• Next Sunday, February 2nd, is our Annual Meeting starting at 11:45. It includes lunch and we will get out no later than 1pm, in plenty of time for the Super Bowl.
• Finally, a word from our RenewalWorks Group:
RenewalWorks: The Journey Continues
(This is the first of several articles that will set the course for our second year of our work with the Roadmap towards deeper spiritual growth. Please look for them.)
A Reminder of our Start
At the Annual Meeting in February 2019, The newly consecrated RenewalWorks Group (RWG) presented to the congregation its plan to respond to the information gather during the Renewal Works Spiritual Inventory. The outline is below.
Beginning January 2019 through 2021, the congregation and leadership of St. Paul’s agrees to encourage people in their journey along the continuum of Exploring, Growing, Deepening and becoming Centered. We will pay particular attention to the transition between Growing and Deepening, which means moving from a person “more committed to their Christian faith, but still there are a lot of questions,” to a person with “faith by which they rely on God’s presence and power in their daily lives.”
Landmark 1: Becoming spiritual leaders of our own faith.
Signpost a. Read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest the Holy Scriptures.
Signpost b. Embrace a life practicing the disciplines that Jesus taught.
Signpost c. Share our gifts and money with gladness and singleness of heart.
Landmark 2: Develop a shared, visible, known and connected leadership at St. Paul’s.
Signpost d. Use Scripture and the Book of Common Prayer to center all meetings.
Signpost e. Create an Organizational Chart.
Signpost f. Expand leadership through recruitment, training, and relationships.
Landmark 3: Link service to Jesus.
Signpost g. Explore what it means when Jesus says, “Surely as you did it to one of the least of these, you did it to me.”
Signpost h. Receive the Sacrament of Bread and Wine, remembering that we, like it, are Broken and Poured Out.
Signpost i. Through service to the least, find our personal and collective witness to the Word.
We have experienced the entire Roadmap during this past year. The RWG has learned a lot about implementation of the Roadmap and appreciates all the feedback it has receive from you. One clear message the RWG received is that there a need to provide more information about the Roadmap and how each one can use the Roadmap to delve deeper into your spiritual development.
Please review the Roadmap. The RWG is open to further questions. In the following weeks the members of the RWG in both print and in worship will offer its insight into the meaning and strength of the Roadmap.
Thank you, Jacob, and our RenewalWorks Group! You’ll be hearing more in the weeks to come.
