January at St. Paul’s

Hello –

This January at St. Paul’s we will be focusing together on our worship. Another word for worship we often use is to call it the “liturgy.” The word “liturgy” means the work of the people, and that means each one of us.

Here are some things to know:

• On Saturday, January 7th all the worship leaders are encouraged to come to a training from 9am to 10:30am. We’re going to be reviewing our worship from beginning to end to get the details right and increase everyone’s confidence.

• Starting January 8th we’re going to return to two practices from before COVID. We have a new team of readers for the second reading and a new team of leaders for the Prayers of the People. In the Prayers of the People we’re going to be encouraging a lot more participation from all who are worshiping.

• On Sunday, January 8th, as part of the 10am worship, Mike will begin weekly teaching on how to sing the service music, the little tunes that we sing every Sunday as part of the worship. Right after worship, I will be offering a series of conversations in Duncan Hall on how to use the Book of Common Prayer to strengthen your spiritual life.

At St. Paul’s, we follow Jesus together in worship, prayer and service. Join us in January as we together learn to worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
Blessings,

Christopher
