Incorporating Yourself

Hello –

This email is about three ways to become a pat of the body of Christ that is St. Paul’s. These three ways are worship, learning and D Groups.

Worship Sunday morning works because 9 different teams of people do things to make it happen. Some, like altar guild, our tech crew and our counters are behind the scenes. Others, like ushering or post-church Coffee hour are abut hospitality. Still others, like acolytes, choirs and readers are about leading the worship. Wher might you be called to put your oar in the water?

Learning We are a community that loves to learn and grow. Every week there are two Bible Studies and a Spiritual Forum. I’m also leading a class on the use of the BCP. Starting in March, we’ll have a Wednesday night series called Who DO You Say That I Am where five of us will talk about what one of the five major writers of the New Testament- Paul, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John- taught us about the reality of Jesus. Come and learn alongside others and so make new friends.

D Groups At the heart of St. Paul’s are a bunch of small groups of that meet weekly called D Groups. In our D Groups we support each other in following seven core Christian practices, including doing the daily work that God sends us each to do. New groups are always coming into being.

We are not invited to follow Jesus alone, but with other people. The door is open to you to take that next step in being a valued and beloved member of the St. Paul’s community. Email me at cmartin@stpaulssanrafael.org if you wish to explore worship, learning or D Groups.

Blessings, Christopher
