Hello –
The next two weeks (and a half) feature four important events. After that, things mellow out a little. It’s been a very rich and productive beginning to to 2016. I hope for your continued attention because the four things I list below have the potential to make us a stronger, more loving community.
1. Sunday Workshop. This Saturday the 30th we meet for two hours, from 9am to to 11am to review, strengthen and reinforce our essential Sunday morning practices. As I wrote last week, this is your invitation to engage more deeply in the Sunday morning experience.
2. Annual Meeting. The following Sunday, February 7th, is the Annual meeting of our parish where we review the year that has past, look forward to the year ahead, elect new members of the Vestry, our governing board, and eat Jambalaya. It starts at 11:15 and we always get out before 1pm.
3. Ash Wednesday. The Wednesday after the Annual Meeting, February 10th, is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. Services, with the imposition of ashes, are at 7:30am, noon and 6:30 pm. An ancient custom is to assume a new practice for Lent. One option is the PrayWorshipServe Lenten Challenge, a practice that helps you fulfill our St. Paul’s mission.
4. Photo Directory. Give a gift to your St. Paul’s community by having your picture professionally taken- for free! Time slots are still available on Thursday February 11th and Friday, February 12th here in the Upper Room of St. Paul’s. Parishioner Bruce Burtch has already taken stunning new photos of the church to be featured in our beautiful new directory. Sign up our website (on the front page).
As always, it’s a blessing to be with you and to serve you.
Blessings,
Christopher
