Hello –
Tonight at 6:15 we begin a slow read of Paul’s great, short letter to the Philippians. Since the beginning of the year, both of my Bible studies have shifted the way we approach the text. On both Wednesdays at 10am and Thursdays at 6:15pm, we are reading the text in small chunks, without any commentary. We can do this because the books we are reading are the letters from the New Testament, which are absolutely packed with rich sayings. Nearly every verse makes intriguing and sometimes startling claims about God and about us.
Come and join us. You don’t need to be an expert or even have ever read the Bible before. We are taking the text a paragraph at a time and carefully and creatively applying these words to our own lives and beliefs. I believe the ancient truth that scripture shapes our imaginations for the good. Do you?
