Dear Friends –
I write to let you know that Walter D., a strong and faithful leader of St. Paul’s and a good man, died on Monday night at his home.
Walter had been living with cancer for some time. It was a cancer that began in his neck. A couple of months ago his treatment came to an end and then a couple of weeks ago he began hospice care. Family and friends came from all over to visit him.
On Sunday he believed he would die soon and so requested that I visit. I was able to give Walter last rites alongside his wife Nancy and one of his daughters, Susie.
The funeral has been scheduled for Saturday, January 23rd at 11am at St. Paul’s.
‘Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend your servant Walter, acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your own redeeming. Receive him into the arms of your mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light. AMEN’
Blessings,
Christopher
