Hello –
It’s a rich little season coming up at St. Paul’s. We have Consecration Sunday, a Good-bye to our beloved Katie and a weekend to explore Mary, the mother of Jesus, as we meet her in scripture.
1. Consecration Sunday is October 24th. Consecration Sunday was the most joyful Sunday of the year last year where we re-connected as a community and celebrated generosity. Please fill out and return the card that was mailed to you so we can get you a Chinese Chicken Salad from Comforts. Also, please refrain from filling out the Giving Card, coming to you soon, until worship on the 24th.
2. Katie Taggart’s last Sunday with us before her move across the Bay is October 31st. There just might be a ton of joy and gratitude and funny stories and hospitality to celebrate our beloved Katie. (wink, wink)
3. Following our powerful Road to Emmaus Weekend, the RenewalWorks Group now brings us Exploring Mary from November 4-7. Here’s the link to the Eventbrite Site and here’s the intro text:
Exploring Mary, the Mother of Jesus
November 4-7, 2021
November 4-7 you’re invited to Mary in the Scriptures, an exploration of this pivotal woman through scripture, games, music, film, art and more, similar in structure to Our Lenten Walk with Jesus weekend. This virtual and in-person event takes place Thursday and Friday evenings, Saturday throughout the day and concludes Sunday morning. Specifically designed for St. Paul’s parishioners, Mary in the Scriptures includes a Mary Box filled with fun activities ranging from a movie, rosary making crafts, recipes, prayers, small group discussion guides, classic church camp songs and lots of St. Paul’s swag. The weekend also features a Mary exhibit (which we hope includes your Mary treasures) Saturday night dinner, donations to Ritter Center and more. We’ll share more details in the coming weeks. Please register no later than Thursday, October 28 .
Bring Mary item(s) to display at Church on October 24.
Send us 6 words on Sunday morning, October 24.
Don’t forget to send any pictures from the Mary Retreat to Judy: jlrowcliffe@comcast.net.
Last Sunday, we had our strongest in-person attendance yet and eight of our mothers had lunch together to plan ways to support each other and invite friends and neighbors to St. Paul’s. We are laying the groundwork for growth. Let us keep listening to the Spirit as we pray, plan and act for growth!
