This Sunday Will be Big, Wet and Joyful!

Hello –

This Sunday is Consecration Sunday, the Sunday that proved to be the most joyful of the year last year. Here are a few things to know:

Worship begins at 10am as usual. Communion will be blessed and distributed at the 10am service, but not consumed. Instead, the service concludes with some minutes of held silence when we all are invited to either sit in silence or fill out our Consecration Sunday card. We end that portion with music, probably just before 11am.

At noon, we all return either to the church or to distance worship on our devices. We first will consume the bread and wine all at the same time, whether we’re on campus or at home. The results of Consecration Sunday will then be announced. We conclude with joyful music.

From 11am to noon we are invited to enjoy an early lunch, Chinese Chicken Salad from Comforts. Because of the rain, we will not be able to use the courtyard, so we will be able to spread out through a variety of indoor spaces and the various porches of our building.

• If you haven’t yet worshipped with us in person, but hope to participate Sunday, please know that we are all wearing masks and doing our best to keep distances in the church.

• Finally, in two weeks we have our Exploring Mary, the Mother of Jesus Weekend. Here’s the Eventbrite link to both find out more and to sign up. At the heart of the weekend is a Mary Open House from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday, November 6th. Duncan Hall will be like a Mary museum. If you have any lovely images or sculptures of Mary you’d like to share, please bring them in this Sunday to be part of the display.

Blessings,

Christopher
