Hello –
One sweet note that still runs strong throughout the American Holiday Season is the impulse to reach out to those in need. Here are four glimpses into how St. Paul’s has done and is doing just that:
• Check out the great picture on our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/stpaulssanrafael) of the big crew that walked to the St. Vincent de Paul soup kitchen on B Street this past Sunday to sing Christmas Carols. We sounded great! Even better, the clients were smiling and singing with us throughout. It was very powerful to walk into that space as our little multi-generational community and sing joyfully with our homeless neighbors.
• You all were so generous in taking the paper candy canes in Duncan Hall that had gifts listed for the Young Moms Marin families. All of them were taken! If you took one, please try to bring your gift by the church (the table in the vestibule by Duncan Hall) by noon tomorrow, Wednesday. Friday noon is the final deadline. Thank you!
• A simple, much appreciated gesture is to send a Christmas Card to one of the seven inmates with whom we have a relationship on San Quentin’s Death Row. Here again is the info if you feel a calling for this simple service. Send your Christmas greetings to the following, each of whose address ends with two lines:
San Quentin State Prison

• Finally, the Outreach Survey and Census made its debut in the service bulletin this past Sunday. Please do check it out and fill it out. I was particularly moved and inspired to see all seven of our Outreach Projects on the chart on the inside and the huge list of those of you who give your time all year round to reach out to those in need. Truly, we are doing our work of following Jesus together in Prayer, Worship and Service.
Blessings,
Christopher
