Hello –
The rhythm of the year at St. Paul’s is like the way school years used to be. We slow down for the summer just after Memorial Day and we ramp up again after Labor Day. September features a series of start-ups and events that launch us into a strong year together.
This email is an overview of the month. (Get out your calendars!)
9/6-9/8. The return of our full weekly schedule. This means:
• Morning Prayer, Tuesdays at 7:30am
• Bible Study, Tuesdays at 12:30pm
• Bible Study, Wednesdays at 10am
• St. Anne’s, Thursdays at 11am
• Bible Study, Thursdays at 6:15pm
9/11 The return of our Sunday Schedule and a Death Cafe. This means:
• Holy Eucharist without Music at 8am
• Spiritual Forum at 9am
• Holy Eucharist with Music at 10am
• Kids leave church for Sunday School at 10:10am
• Death Cafe at 4pm (Just on 9/11)
• Centering Prayer at 7pm (2nd and 4th Sundays)
9/18 The Debut of The Sunday Afternoon Episcopal Quartet. This means, every Sunday at Nativity, in a ministry shared with three other Episcopal Churches (hence the “Quartet”):
• Holy Eucharist without music at 5pm
• Marin Episcopal Youth Group at 5:45pm
• Northern Marin Episcopal Forum at 6pm
9/24 Discipleship Group Workshop at 9am
9/25 Hardin Courtyard Community Meeting at 11:30am
This schedule does not mention many of the most important things that make St. Paul’s a vibrant community. These include Choir rehearsals, our five weekly Outreach ministries, the various church support ministries and, above all, our six Discipleship Groups.
If you make extra time for any one event this fall, please make it the Discipleship Group workshop on Saturday, September 24th, from 9am to noon. Discipleship Groups are the heart of St. Paul’s.
Blessings,
Christopher

PS Due to a scheduling foul-up on the part of the Pacifics, we will not be singing the National Anthem at their game tomorrow night.
