Hello –
The installation of the Hardin Courtyard is well underway and it looks fabulous. So far, they are ahead of schedule, but stay tuned!
In the meantime…
• Worship at Nativity went even better than we all expected. People from both congregations were reporting how moving, powerful and sweet it felt. God is good. (Remember, it’s at 333 Ellen Drive and the services are at 8am and 10am.)
• Please park in an appropriate spot. Some neighbors were complaining. We would love to have a pair of you volunteer to serve as Valet parkers. Some of the issue may be how steep the hill is.
• Also, please be mindful as you drive up the hill and don’t go too fast. There are children that live in the neighborhood.
• The book I mentioned in my sermon was Eugene Peterson’s “A Long Obedience in the Same Direction: Discipleship in an Instant Society.” I am recommending it as spiritual reading for the summer. I’ll be writing more about it soon, but basically it’s a useful and poetic reflection on the fifteen short Psalms of Ascent (numbers 120-134), reflecting on each of them as a guide to the Christian life. Each psalm is boiled down to a memorable word.
Blessings,
Christopher
