Hello –
A week from this Saturday we host a three hour workshop on Discipleship Groups. We did this workshop in the spring and there were thirty of us there representing nine congregations.
Please come. I consider this event just as important as Christmas and Holy Week in expressing the core of who we are growing up to be together here at St. Paul’s.
Here is the announcement that appeared yesterday in DioBytes, the weekly email newsletter for all Bay Area Episcopalians:
Strengthen your spiritual core: Discipleship group workshop
St. Paul’s, San Rafael is offering a series of workshops that train both individuals and churches to place the core Christian practices and beliefs at the center of their spiritual lives. The first is on Saturday, September 12, and is a Discipleship group workshop. Discipleship groups are small groups structured for spiritual maturity through a BCP-like liturgy that includes vows to pray, worship, serve, give, learn, listen, and join. St. Paul’s has had discipleship groups for ten years and currently has six groups. The workshop will be a mix of teaching, story telling from discipleship group veterans, and experience of a group. The spring session of the workshop had thirty people and started at least two groups.
When: Saturdays, September 12, September 26, October 10, and October 24, 9 a.m. to 12 noon
Where: St. Paul’s, 1123 Court Street, San Rafael
Cost: $20 donation per session requested
