Hello –
Three things:
1. This Sunday is both Mother’s Day and Good Shepherd Sunday. It’s always a gracious coincidence when that happens. For so many of us, we first learned what a Good Shepherd is by the way our mother’s shepherded us through childhood. I look forward to preaching and celebrating this Sunday.
2. My vacation begins after services on Sunday. My first day back in the office will be Wednesday, June 25th and my first Sunday back will be June 29th. In the meantime Erin will be the priest in charge and Tanner, as Senior Warden will be working closely with her. They are both well prepared. Wednesday 10am Bible Study resumes on July 2nd and the Thursday 6pm Bible Study will resume later in the summer.
3. Longtime parishioner Nancy Dods entered into hospice care this week. Many of you may not know Nancy because she’s been in memory care for the last decade. I gave her last rites on Thursday. If you would like to keep vigil with Nancy in her last days she’s at Cogir in San Rafael. I’ll likely be planning the funeral with her three children after I return from vacation. Please pray for Nancy and her children- Susie, Walter and Laura.
We have had a rich and full year at St. Paul’s. I’m particularly grateful for all of you who are new in the last year and have clearly gotten and loved what makes our St. Paul’s community so deep and loving. May we go from strength to strength in the years to come.
Now, your Rector is craving some refreshment!
Blessings,
Christopher
