Love, Ashes and King Cake

Hello –

There are three big events in the next two weeks. Here they are in reverse order:

Learn to Love in 2022.

Wednesdays, March 9, 16, 23, 30, April 6; 7-8 p.m. In-person in Duncan Hall or on zoomhttps://us02web.zoom.us/j/91813976465.

Strengthen your love of God through exploration of two poems and a short chapter of an essay by the Christian poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge. The poems are Frost at Midnight and Rime of the Ancient Mariner.  These poems and others can be found in Samuel Taylor Coleridge: The Major Works Oxford $14.95.  However, you do not need to purchase this book – I will also provide all materials for you. Email me at c.h.mrtn@gmail.com and I’ll get you the packet the day before the class starts.

Here’s a 45 second video on Youtube of me describing the class.

Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday is March 2nd. We have two services at noon and 6:30pm. Both services are Eucharist with the imposition of ashes. The services will be in-person only.

Fat Tuesday Sunday

This Sunday is the last Sunday before Lent begins. We will have an extra festive coffee hour with Candy’s Beans (she’s from New Orleans!) a King Cake, beads and festive drinks and nibbles. Our outdoor coffee hour is growing!

Also, this Sunday we celebrate the birthdays and anniversaries of February. Please email me at c.h.mrtn@gmail.com if you’d like yours or a loved ones name read aloud and prayed for.

Blessings,

Christopher
