Dear St Paul’s Families,
Thank you for your wonderful presence Sunday in the service and for your ever-charming and courageous children and their willingness to step-up! I apologize for forgetting to send out the reminder email about it last week—I will do better next time. Speaking of which, the next family Sunday is December 22nd. I will not be here to organize it, but if your children are chomping at the bit to participate again, please do let me know what they’d like to do and I can arrange it remotely. If not, I’m thinking we can take a break and pick up the family Sundays again in January.
Thanks also to those who were able to stay to make Advent Wreaths. It was so fun to watch the children making their own, and the grown-ups who got into it as well. I’m attaching the Advent Wreath prayers that I had on hand today, in case you forgot to pick one up. Also, it’s important to let you know that the greens in the wreaths will likely dry out before Christmas, so you may want to spritz them periodically with water and/or change out the greens in a couple of weeks. As we all know, dead vegetation, open flames, and children are not the healthiest combination.
Next week is the first Sunday of Advent. Kati will be leading the Advent Godly Play story and we will place our first figures in the Creche outside of church.
Upcoming Sundays:
December 1st: First Sunday of Advent (Godly Play)
December 8th: Music Sunday with Libby and Homeless Kit making
December 15th: Third Sunday of Advent (Godly Play) and caroling after church!
December 22nd: Fourth Sunday of Advent (Family Sunday)
December 29th: Family-hosted potluck (Sarah Owens will be coordinating)
January 12th: Epiphany Play!
I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Karin
