Four Housekeeping Things

Hello –

Our Joy of Serving campaign has generated nearly twenty new volunteers for our Outreach ministries. Tomorrow, I’m going to send an email blast focusing on our Outreach that will include the emails of many new folks. Today, I want to share four pieces of housekeeping before new people start receiving these messages.

1. The Bell and Silence. Jacob is ringing our bell at 9:45am on Sunday mornings. Once the bell rings, please keep silence in the church. If you wish to use that tie to visit with folks, please stay out in the courtyard and then come into church when you’re ready to be still.

2. Bible Study. Due to a technical difficulty last week, the Lenten Thursday Bible Study at 6pm starts tonight. We begin with Matthew 25 and then will read his Passion Narrative. Email me at c.h.mrtn@gmail.com for the Zoom Link.

3. Lenten Practices include fasting from retaliation and saying the Prayer of Humble Access before receiving the bread and wine on Sunday mornings. You can email me for a brief essay about fasting from retaliation or pick one up on the temporary altar going into Duncan Hall. The prayer of Humble Access is found in our Sunday service bulletin.

4. Digestion. We’ve had a rich beginning to the year. Vincent has become our new musical director, Kati, with support from Erin, has stepped into the role as Children and Youth Ministry director with great new weekly programs, our Outreach is growing and strengthening, we have a crew of adults headed toward Confirmation, and we are on our way to Holy Week by keeping a Holy Lent. Now is a time to slow down, digest, and settle into this new chapter of our life together.

God is good and God is with us.

Blessings,

Christopher
