Hello –
As advertised….
1. This Sunday is Pentecost when we celebrate the birth of the church in tongues of fire. So you’re invited to wear red!
2. Next Sunday, May 26th, at 11:15am in the conversation area of Duncan Hall, we’re going to have a sort of short mid-year Annual Meeting. The primary focus will be our new relationship with Erin, but both Mike and I have shifts in our work to share with you and the Vestry will have an invitation.
3. Erin isn’t going to be ordained a priest until July 17th and I leave on vacation on June 3rd. Some Sundays when I’m gone, Erin will lead Sunday worship with a service called Antecommunion. Notice that it is “ante” as in “before” not “anti” as in “against.” Basically, the service will be like everything we usually do on Sunday up until communion, which Erin cannot celebrate until she’s ordained.
4. On June 1st some of our teen girls are going to be Confirmed at Grace Cathedral. We will celebrate them the following day, June 2nd, in our Sunday worship.
5. Also on June June 2nd, a crew will be going over to the San Rafael Health Care Center to sing some songs and say some prayers. They’ll go over at 11:15am and be done before noon. Please consider bringing some joy and music to some shut-in folks.
