Felicia and Four Things

Hello –

First, before the Four Things, a special message from Felicia I got via text that she wanted me to share with all of you:

“Greetings from Felicia, to her fantastic brothers and sisters at St. Paul’s! It is with great joy to inform you, I will be back at Church; within a couple of weeks, with Jesus’ help! Moreover, I want to extend my sincere gratitude to all of you for the vast number of Get Well Cards, phone calls, flowers, and continued Prayers! You all made my excruciating pains decline to tolerable pains! You are all contributors to my recovery and for that I thank you. I am giving a special hug to Dan for a lovely signed card- thanks Chris!” (She then added a bunch of emojis- a smiling face, a heart and praying hands.)

Now to the four:

1. The Rise Against Hunger Event this past Sunday in Duncan Hall was a great success. 65 Episcopalians from five Marin churches- St. Paul’s, Nativity, St. John’s, Our Savior and St. Stephen’s- made 10,000 meals to be sent to Southeast Asia. St. John’s will host the event next year. It looks like Erin and I have started a new tradition!

2. Saturday is the last session of this fall’s Practice Group called Angels: Translators of Love. I’ll be handing out a new glossary of all the key words we’ve been exploring together. The next Practice Group begins January 10th and it will also be one Angels, but from a different perspective. You don’t need to have gone to the fall session to come in January.

3. This is your last call to add names of family or close loved ones who have died in the last year for the Necrology I will read aloud on Sunday. Email me at c.h.mrtn@gmail.com.

4. Our next collaborative outreach event is a Christmas Card writing party for our Death Row Ministry in Duncan Hall on Sunday, November 16th from 3pm to 6pm. We are the featured event this year for the Episcopal Impact Fund and again expect Episcopalians to join us. Please come and write some cards. We know they mean the world to these condemned inmates!

Blessings,

Christopher
