Transfigured Hope & Love

A Transcending Contempt Practice Group

Five Saturday Sessions, 9/12 – 10/10/2026 – free

8:30am – Hospitality
9-10am – Teaching

Each teaching session is followed by a session for reflection and conversation.

Join The Rev. Christopher H. Martin, B.A.M. Div. Yale University in a seminar series focusing on Transfigured Hope & Love. We’ll explore how Jesus invites us to be not admirers of him, but imitators of him.  When we follow Jesus as imitators we learn to hope as he hoped and love as he loved.  Just as Jesus was transfigured on Mt. Carmel, revealing his true nature as both fully human and fully divine, so our concepts of hope and love are transfigured when we follow him closely. These practice groups will offer images, words, sentences and exercises that teach us to imitate Jesus and so have our hope and love transfigured.

Duncan Hall, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. All are welcome!  Attend the entire series or a selection of seminars.  Free.
