Christmas Info From Katie

Hello St. Paul’s Families,

We had a great time on Sunday at the potluck. Thanks to everyone for contributing and for celebrating our church family. We will do this again on the 5th Sundays in January and April.

It was especially meaningful as Christopher and I announced our Advent (and pre-Advent plan) to bring us back to the basics. Beginning November 13th, Christopher will be preaching the simple stuff on God’s mercy and the love in our hearts as we prepare for the Christ child. And while the parents are settling into the pew, finding peace post-election, the children will be learning the basic Christmas songs – Joy to the World, Oh Little Town of Bethlehem, Silent Night, Go Tell it on the Mountain, The First Noel, Hark the Herald Angels sing. It’ll be a 6-week line-up where post-Sunday School and post-church, the kids and adults will meet in Duncan Hall at coffee hour to rehearse the song learned that day.

This will be a time to invite friends and family to church – who doesn’t like to get ready for Christmas? Beginning Nov 13th, there will be something for the children every Sunday through Dec 18th.

Also, Bruce and Janie have invited the children to help decorate the creche. They will have a special part each Sunday in Advent to set-up the Nativity Scene. Thank you so much, Bruce and Janie!

Some other news and requests…

1 – We need new help in the nursery. Our current AMAZING team Kristen and Roxanne won’t be able to help out for much longer. Their schedules are getting too busy (in nursing school.) They’ve also been reaching out to others for me, but no luck. Do you have a beloved babysitter whom you’d like to refer?

2 – A mom’s discipleship group is currently open for new members! We meet every other Monday at 9am in San Anselmo; but could shift that to earlier OR on Sunday evenings during youth group. Please contact me or Chloe if you are interested.

I hope you’ve had a restful weekend. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Grace and Peace,

Kati
