Hello –
We are blessed with one of the finest sacred spaces in the Bay Area and with a campus that can host a wide range of events and activities. One of our responsibilities is to be good stewards of 1123 Court Street, particularly those who are elected each year to our Vestry.
Here are four things you’ll want to know:
• The large new brass plaque honoring the Rev Hugh Hardin is now up in our sanctuary. Look for it one Sunday. It joins plaques honoring two of his predecessors, the Rev. Ernest Bradley and the Rev. Ernest Hartmann.
• Next week, Duncan Hall and the Vestibule will receive new, faux-wood flooring. It will improve the space dramatically and last for decades. Our Senior Warden, Steve writes ‘men- please help prepare Duncan Hall for our new floor. We need 5-6 men to change out the plastic feet on the tables and chairs, and to move some plants. Work starts at 9am, Saturday, July 23rd. Just show up!’
• Duncan Hall will also be improved with decoration for the large blank wall and improvements to the couch area.
• Plans for the Hardin Courtyard continue to develop. On Sunday, August 21st, we will have an all-parish meeting following the 10am service. One of the leaders of the Hardin Courtyard effort, Pat, writes that we hope to ‘concentrate on the process we’re going through to arrive at a feasible courtyard plan. This will include a recognition of the challenges, generally what it will look like and possible costs as well as where we are in the funding. We’ll have time for walk throughs on the ground with everyone after we’ve arrived at what we think the best plan is but before we finalize it and bid it.’
Blessings,
Christopher
