Big Week for St. Paul’s

Hello –

My spiritual director (who is also a Jungian analyst) believes that in life we go through times that are normal and then times when it feels like we’re going through a wormhole. The next ten days are likely to feel like a wormhole, at least behind the scenes.

Here are three important things to keep in mind:

• HVAC. This Saturday, the 11th, Ongaro begins work installing the new HVAC and its accompanying electrical system in the education wing. All next week they will be continuing their work which means that most days, classrooms of MDS, the school that rents space from us, will be displaced into Duncan Hall.

• SPRIF III Soup/Supper. Next Wednesday, the 15th, Jay, Maggie, Pat, Tenesa and Joan will be leading a community conversation about SPRIF III, our capital campaign. This conversation is an essential component of the campaign. We’re off to a strong, positive start. It’s essential we keep up the good momentum.

• St. Anne’s Appreciation Party. On Sunday, the 19th Chloe and I, on behalf of the Vestry, will be hosting a party at our house from 4pm to 6pm to express our appreciation of the faithful ministry of the active members of the St. Anne’s guild. Please plan to be there!

On top of that, we have the launch of our annual stewardship campaign next week to determine our budget for next year. A few of us also have the annual convention of the Diocese.

Finally, the Vestry, our governing board, meets next Thursday, the 16th. There are at least two major decisions, one concerning solar panels and another concerning the exciting developments in our youth ministry and more clergy support. The meeting is at 7pm in Duncan Hall and you are welcome to come.

The weeks following the 19th are likely to have a more normal rhythm. The next great event will be the annual St. Anne’s Bazaar on November 8th and 9th.

These are positive changes and events that fill me and our St. Paul’s leadership with excitement and hope. But we know we need lots of communication and lots of patience in this time. Please pray for St. Paul’s as you do your best to participate in our trip through the wormhole towards a healthy future!

Blessings,

Christopher
