Hello –
We’re hard at work resolving things from the PrayWorshipServe Retreat and laying groundwork for next steps. Here are a few things to know. First, we came out a little ahead financially! That’s how we budgeted things, but it’s always satisfying when things come out as you plan. Second, the surveys have been analyzed and they are very strong. Well over 20 participants responded to our 25 questions, each ranked from 1 to 5, with 5 being the most positive. 90% of all responses were either a 4 or a 5. Finally, we’re in the process of setting up a Facebook conversation group so that the rich conversations begun at the retreat around our Seven Core Christian Practices can continue.
That was the great event. The even greater event lies before us. In just over two weeks, Holy Week begins. As always, I encourage you to set aside time to walk through the whole experience by attending Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil. There is a wholeness to the story that will always elude us if all we do is show up for the two Sundays of Palm Sunday and Easter. The mighty acts by which we were saved include foot washing, the institution of the last supper, death on the cross, and then are dramatically expressed as we go from dark to light at Saturday night’s Easter Vigil.
Let us register together these great events through which Jesus walked through on our behalf, beginning in about two weeks, on March 25th.
