Hello –
We are now in the Christian season of Ordinary Time. We’ve celebrated the birth of the church at Pentecost and so now enter a time of few major feasts. Here are some things to know about the summer at St. Paul’s:
• My major focus for the next month will be starting and encouraging D Groups. These small groups are designed to build relationship and integrate a whole Christian life. A bunch of you have expressed interest, please contact me if you’d like to learn more.
• Bible Study is back both Wednesdays at 10am and Thursdays at 6pm on Zoom.
• On Saturday, June 10th, Erin and I will be taking Margaret, Aidan, John and Kristen to be Confirmed at Grace Cathedral.
• On Sunday, June 11th, I begin Basic Discipleship after morning worship. This multi-week experience helps you get into a rhythm of prayer, helps you find your voice in telling your own story and teaches the practices of a healthy small group. It’s the perfect way to test if D Groups are for you.
• I’m still looking forward to teaching my new class on The Root Cause of Contempt and will begin as soon as the time is right.
• Cursillo is a loving short course in Christianity. The Women’s Cursillo is now full but spaces are still open for the Men’s weekend on July 20th to 23rd.
• Jane’s and Vince’s funerals will be in the fall. Thank you to the many of you who reached out to Ken and also to Larry, Paige and Jason. I’m so grateful to be part of and to lead such a caring, thoughtful and generous community.
