Hello –
Second, Sue’s daughter-in-law, Rose, has volunteered to come by every week if needed and take the basket at the back of the church to the Ritter Center, as Sue and George used to do. As you may know, in words that Sue wrote, the basket has a sign that says “Jesus says ‘Feed my Lambs.’ For us, that’s the Ritter Center.” Please get in the habit of bringing in non-perishable goods on Sunday morning to share with our local hungry. Sue would be pleased.
Third, given current COVID uncertainties we will not have the Fat Tuesday for Saints and Sinners as planned. We first want to rebuild the social connections among St. Paul’s. So, starting February 13th, Kari will be leading us in Courtyard Coffee Hour. On the 27th, the Sunday before Fat Tuesday, we will have a super celebratory coffee hour with music and food and games, as a foretaste of what we hope to offer Marin next year.
Finally, three dates to keep in mind:
Sunday, February 6th is the Annual Meeting. Plan to join us either in person or on Zoom from just after 11am to just after noon.
Wednesday, March 9th at 5:30pm I begin my Lenten series on learning to love God through language. The bible verse that inspires us is the last line of the Psalms- “Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.” In Lent, we’re all going to be encouraged to write a kind of prayer, called a Collect, using our best words. We’re going to learn about great words by some guided reading of poems by Samuel Taylor Coleridge, a Christian poet.
Sunday, May 1st, we still plan to have a May Day Celebration of Flowers in our courtyard where we will have tons of beautiful flowers and we and our friends and neighbors will be invited to make bouquets to personally deliver to senior centers. It will probably be from 11am to 1pm and feature some food, music, and other fun activities. Save the date!
