Hello –
I’m pleased to report there are now five ways to serve those whom Jesus especially loves though St. Paul’s. Four are within walking distance of our church, while one can be done from our homes.
1. Street Chaplaincy Dinner. Our first dinner on Tuesday was a great success with diners appreciating the warmth and connection as well as the food. The next dinner is April 21st.
2. Vinnies Lunches. Every other week we gather on a Wednesday at 4pm and make over 100 bagged lunches for Vinnies. The next gathering is February 11th.
3. Ritter Basket. Every Sunday we have the opportunity to contribute non-perishable food to the Ritter Center food bank.
4. San Rafael Health Care Center. Once a month, on the fourth Sunday, we provide music and prayers at this Center on Mission. (They want us to come every week!) Join the crew this Sunday after church.
5. Death Row Ministry. Once a month, on our own schedule, we can write a letter or an email to a Condemned inmate in California. Erin provides simple training.
We are committed to providing a diverse portfolio of service opportunities so that each of us can discover for ourselves the mysterious power of Jesus’ teaching, “surely as did it to one of the least of these, my brothers and sisters, you did it to me.”
