Hello –
Hygiene is a science that deals with the practices and conditions that help people maintain good health. What I’m offering on Saturday morning are practices and conditions that help you maintain good health for your soul.
Americans now spend, on average, two hours a day on social media. That’s not good for the health of our souls. I’m offering a series of practices that counterbalance the encroachment of these devices on our minds and hearts. These practices lead to a quartet of qualities that counter-balance the noise. The qualities are stillness, silence, simplicity and stability.
Here is the teaching from Saturday. In this teaching, I encourage Three Pillar Practices. I name these three practices Breathe, Stability and the Sacred Word. They are simple ways to introduce intentional silence into your daily life and so restore balance and fullness of life. The goal of all the practices is to move us from being anxious to being centered.
I invite you to watch the video and join me at 8:45 this Saturday morning in Duncan Hall. The teachings in this class will continue to be central to the work I intend to do at St. Paul’s in the coming years.
Blessings,
Christopher
