A Practice of Daily Hope

Hello –

I’d like to share with you a daily practice for living in hope.

A week from Saturday, on October 26th at 9am in Duncan Hall, I’ll be offering a stand-alone teaching for a practice first thing in the morning to orient your day toward living in hope. The teaching is based classic understandings of the theological virtue of hope and only takes a couple of minutes.

I’ve designed the teaching so that it will be useful to you whether or not you’ve been part of the Transcending Contempt Practice Group up until now. People have been coming and going to these Saturday morning sessions all along, so there’s already a looseness and a gracious welcome to our circle.

We will not be meeting this Saturday as I will be out of town and not returning until Saturday afternoon. After the teaching on hope on October 26th, we will meet for two more Saturdays, concluding on the Saturday after the election, November 9th. Hospitality begins before 8:45 on Saturday mornings.

With daily practice, we can learn to be beacons of hope in our divided world.

Blessings,
Christopher
