Welcome Back, St. Paul’s Families!

I hope your summer was a peaceful and blessed one. We have some great changes and additions to our 2016/2017 Family Programming. We are adding a 2nd Godly Play to the month. They will be on the 2nd and 4th Sundays. Chloe will guide one; and I will guide the other, leading our children in contemplative Prayer. The first one will be September 11th.

And some news…Jim and Janet will not be leading Sunday School this year because of new exciting commitments elsewhere. I’m confident we’ll see them occasionally.

As for the choir, the interest has not been enough to be sustainable, so we are positioning ourselves to reintroduce it next year. This year we will have Music Sunday School with Libby every 3rd Sunday. After Music Sunday School, we will walk down to 5th Avenue to sing at 11:30 (all are welcome!) What a great way to keep our music program running, and introduce our children to Service.

Family Sunday will now be the 1st Sunday of the month. During Worship, the older children are invited to acolyte, serve and read. What a great example they can set for the younger children in our congregation!

Lastly, there are a few 5th Sundays this year. These will be Coffee Hour (potluck) Parties hosted by the Families. During the service, we’ll keep busy in Duncan Hall decorating and setting up.

Please let me know how you’d like to be involved:

Would you be interested in helping with Godly Play?

Would you like to walk with Libby and children down to 5th Avenue?

Would you like to recruit the older children for the Family Sundays?

Would you like to be a part of the decorating and set-up committee these few 5th Sundays?

We look forward to seeing your children on Sunday, September 11th for our first Godly Play of the year! Children will exit the service at 10:10 am after the Collect, before the 1st reading.

And as always, your feedback is welcome!

In Grace and Peace through Christ,

Kati
