This Sunday: PrayWorshipServe

Hello –

This Sunday, the first Sunday of the season of Epiphany, we offer invitations to you to pray, worship and serve in some new ways.

Pray. At 11:30, after the 10am service, I begin teaching my class on Christian Practices. I begin, as always, with teaching about daily prayer. My assumption is that everyone can find a way to pray twenty minutes a day that fits who they are. Our work together is to find that special way just for you.

Worship. For the season of Epiphany, that is until February 15th, the first half of our worship on Sundays will be Morning Prayer. I can’t wait to introduce you to this beautiful treasure of our tradition! Morning Prayer has wonderful prayers, great music, and a structure that’s transferable to weekday prayers. This week we also have the extra delight of children leading some of our worship.

Service. Many of you have already filled out the Outreach survey but many of you still haven’t. Please do! Not only do we want to have record of your thoughts and experiences, I also hope you’ll take the time to look at the list of the seven different ways we are already friends with those Jesus especially loves, ‘the least’ in Marin County. There’s a small stack on the piano and you can grab one on your way back from communion.

See? We follow Jesus together (all generations!) in prayer, worship and service. God is good.

Blessings,

Christopher
