Lent at St. Paul’s

Hello –

We have a full Lent planned at St. Paul’s. What follows is a brief rundown of some of the highlights.

Ash Wednesday is this coming Wednesday, March 1st. Services are at 7:30am, Noon and 6:30pm with the imposition of ashes.

Basic Discipleship begins on Saturday, March 4th at 8:30am. This one hour class teaches prayer, spiritual autobiography and healthy small group norms and runs for five sessions.

Death Cafe is Sunday, March 5th from 4pm to 6pm. This is an open conversation about something that happens to us all, facilitated by Chloe.

The Discipleship Group Conversation is Saturday, March 11th and is facilitated by the Rev. Ann Hallisey, the Dean of students at our local seminary, CDSP. This session, from 9am to 12:30pm, is essential preparation for hosting the PrayWorshipServe Lenten Retreat next year.

Taking Care…with the end in mind begins on Sunday, March 12th and is a four part series on preparing for a holy death through legacy letters, advanced health care directives, good funeral planning and thoughtful wills. It is Sundays from 11:30am to 12:30pm.

A Joint Vestry Retreat is on Saturday, March 18th at Nativity alongside the leadership of Nativity, Redeemer and St. Francis, our three Northern Marin Episcopal neighbors.

The Psalmathon returns on Saturday, March 25th starting at 2pm at Redeemer church. This collective reading aloud of the entire psalter should be over well before 9pm. You are welcome to drop by for just a portion of it.

Palm Sunday, which is the beginning of Holy Week, is April 9th.

Finally, please bear in mind that starting on Monday, May 1st, all our campus activities, with the sole exception of the preschool, will be shifted to the campus of Nativity Church for at least the month of May while the Hardin Courtyard is being installed. Plans are already well under way for how to make this all work as smoothly as possible.

These are busy and exciting times at St. Paul’s.

Blessings,

Christopher
