January and February

Hello Everyone-

These are the announcements that will be in the bulletin for the services on Christmas Eve. You will be hearing about these events many more times, but it’s never to early to get them in your calendar!

Two Big Weeks for St. Paul’s Next Year ~ 2018 Starts with a bang at St. Paul’s.

January 21st-27th

Rise Against Hunger. On Sunday afternoon, come to Duncan Hall and join dozens of Episcopalians from Norther Marin as we prepare thousands of easy to make meals to be sent to a place of greatest need in the world. Last January we prepared over 10,000 meals that were sent to a remote place in Turkey. 1pm in Duncan Hall.

150th Anniversary Evensong. The Feast of St. Paul is always January 25th. On that Thursday evening next year our choir will be joined by the Bishop of California, the The Rt. Rev. Marc Handley Andrus, to help us celebrate our 150 years as a Christian Community in Marin. We are the oldest Episcopal church in the county, and one of the two oldest, continually used sacred spaces. A festive reception will follow in Duncan Hall.

Party! That Saturday night, the 27th of January, 100 of us will go to the Key Room of Homeward Bound for a joyful and celebratory Dinner/Dance. Tickets are only $50 and space is limited to 100 people. Make your reservation soon with either a check to St. Paul’s or by going to our Eventbrite.com site. Type in St. Paul’s 150th and you will be led to our page.

February 22nd-25th

PrayWorshipServe Lenten Retreat. We will be hosting up to 60 people from around the country and the Bay Area at our first PrayWorshipServe Retreat. At the heart of the life of St. Paul’s is Seven Core Christian Practices. Already 33 people from as far away as Jacksonville, Pittsburgh and Indianapolis are coming to St. Paul’s for an immersive experience where they will be strengthened and encouraged in practices like daily prayer, service of the poor and experiencing “gladness and singleness of heart” through embracing your unique call. By hosting this retreat, St. Paul’s is boldly entering into it’s next 150 years of powerful and beautiful Christian life in Marin. Local participants start at 9am on Friday the 23rd and go through noon on Sunday the 25th and pay $249. Come and see.

Merry Christmas Everyone,

Christopher
