Hello –
In May, I’m going to offer three different time slots for Basic Discipleship. These are Sundays at 6pm, Thursdays at 12:30 and Saturdays at 8am. Each time slot is limited to four people. The starting dates are May 15th, 19th and 21st.
In Basic Discipleship I teach how to pray and then encourage you to find your own voice in telling your spiritual story. In the first session I teach a variety of ways to pray and also ways to overcome the typical obstacles to getting into and maintaining a daily rhythm of prayer. I also tell three stories from my life of when I felt closest to God.
In each subsequent session, we begin by checking in on how our prayer went that week. We essentially become a small group of support and accountability. Then, each week, a different person tells stories from their life. Basic Discipleship runs for five weekly sessions.
If you want to take Basic Discipleship starting in May, please email me today. Tomorrow, I will be extending the invitation to take this class to other Christians in Marin who have expressed interest. But I’d like to first fill these classes with people of St. Paul’s!
